Our Approach

The Peace Appeal Foundation's primary approach is to engage with parties in conflict to develop an integrated process for peace building. Our work to date has focused on the following three inter-related and reinforcing programs:

Peace Support - Mediation, Facilitation and Advisory Services.
Providing mediation, facilitation and advisory support to parties and groups engaged in peace and negotiations processes
Peace Tools - Knowledge Resources and Practical Tools.
Knowledge Resources and Practical Tools for Intractable Conflicts.
Peace Education - Innovative Media for Conflict and Cultural Transformation.
Promoting Innovation in Peacebuilding, Conflict and Cultural Transformation.
Children's Voices - Reaching out to children silently suffering the effects and consequences of violence.
With the potential for major advances in Sri Lanka's peace process negligible in the current climate, the Appeal and our affiliate Peace Appeal South Asia ("PASA") are undertaking humanitarian projects to assist those left most vulnerable by the war, children in need. To read more about PASA's work with children, and to access the link to the Children's Voices blog, click on the button below.

In 2004, there were 230 political conflicts worldwide, including 3 wars and 33 severe crisis,
